Once finding her groove in a new town, Felicia excelled in high school and graduated Valedictorian of her class and went on to tackle college. She allowed her scars to heal and moved through life with a renewed sense of determination. However, the hard lessons weren't over. Her inner "business diva" surfaced out of necessity, not choice. She married her talents as an event planner with her passion for socializing and became a campus "mover and shaker". "I was struggling to pay for college, pay rent, and buy food, and dropping out and going home was not an option for me". Felicia's strong sense of business kicked in and it was not long before she became one of the most sought after event planners in the area. She single handedly and successfully promoted and hosted plays, comedy shows, concerts and parties.
"I finally had it all. Or so I thought. I could have easily been called the 'She-Diddy' of entertainment in the southeast. My rise came painstakingly, step by step. But in one fell swoop, as suddenly as it began it was over. I lost everything!!" An unsecured investment in a business venture was the beginning of the end. The risk did not pay off and the venture failed miserably. She did not walk away empty handed though. She came away from the tragedy with one of the best taught lessons of her life. Always have a plan A, B, C, D and sometimes E!!!!
From Setback to Comeback
After losing everything, savings, house, car, & business Felicia had to make a move. She found a job in Corporate America in order to slowly rebuild. The author spent the next few years cultivating her talents, watching, studying, and imitating the skills of her chosen mentors. She waited in the shadows and planned her revival. When she had enough and felt she was ready to put Corporate America in her rearview mirror, Felicia did so with no regrets. "I may have abandoned Corporate America but not the corporate strategy. In fact, that is how I see myself, as an entrepreneur with a corporate strategy."
Since that time, Felicia has been busy building her legacy. She has authored several books including Chosen, When You Decide To Prosper and her latest Real Women Wear Stilettos. She is a sought after motivational speaker that has traveled with and been mentored by the famous Les Brown. She still uses her event planner talents throughout the southeast by assisting Fortune 500 companies plan their events. She has a long list of clients that include elected officials, non-profit organizations and small businesses. Felicia was also the mastermind behind the building of a new event center in her home town that she now runs and co-owns. Occasions Event Center I, is the home of many of her events. As if that were not enough, she recently opened AdvanceBiz Tax Preparation & Small Loans. The motto of AdvanceBiz is "seeing you advance is our bizness". They currently have two locations, one in Phenix City Al, and the other in Union Springs Al.
Global Mindset
Felicia is the driving force behind a rapidly expanding business machine. Her goal is to be a global icon in the business world and bring a little more 'flair' to the boardroom. Her newest addition to her empire is called VIVID----Discover Your True Potential. This component is an empowerment event series that includes empowerment products for her clients. Felicia is set to make and undeniable mark in the coming years and shows no signs of letting up. "I love coaching others to find their true potential, and to live their lives to the fullest. VIVID is about living your life in 3-D, live and in color. I'm ready to take more people on this journey with me. The thrill of the game is priceless, and when we play we should play for keeps. Go hard or go home! This chapter is called the takeover!!!!!"
